It’s official! MEHG is delighted to announce that Bouvard Coast Care Group (BCCG) has formally become a sub-committee of MEHG.
BCCG has been maintaining 17km of coastline for 30 years and has an impressive core of dedicated volunteers. Due to a lack of members able to take on the officer roles, however, the group agreed at their recent AGM to voluntarily deregister as an incorporated association. The resolution with MEHG will enable Bouvard Coastcare to continue their vital work to protect our southern corridor beaches and dune system.
BCCG coordinator Mel Horton has been co-opted on to the MEHG Committee, and says: “I am very proud of what BCCG has achieved, especially in recent years. We have some exceptionally hardworking volunteers and we are thrilled about the opportunity to be able to continue to focus on our activities as a sub-committee of MEHG, versus closing down the group altogether which was our only other option.”
