During NAIDOC Week in 2020 we wrote to the City of Mandurah Councillors to support their unanimous vote to establish a First Nations Voice to Council and the City of Mandurah, through in-principal support for an ‘Elder in Residence’.
We endorse their support of the Uluru Statement of the Heart to walk with the First Nation’s people in a movement of the Australian people for a better future, and we recommend input from Indigenous residents on the appointment of an Elder in Residence.
The Uluru Statement calls for three fundamental changes: Voice, Treaty and Truth.
