2024 UPDATE: This project to install wildlife nesting habitat at John Tonkin College has recently been fine-tuned, and is ready to be expanded into a fully monitored program with live updates and monitoring capacity.
2023: Come and meet Simon from Re-Cyc-Ology and join the action as the nest boxes built by JTC students get their solar-powered cameras fitted before he secures them in the treetops.
This event launches our new project “Nest box building and monitoring of vulnerable wildlife” funded by the City of Mandurah to install next boxes with webcams to observe the natural behaviour and secret lives of birds and animals, and identify specific needs that can be considered in the management of our local environment.
This exciting volunteer recruitment and upskilling event will be held on Thursday 16th March 2023 from 3.30pm in the grounds of John Tonkin College (Tindale Campus) 35 Gibla Street, Mandurah 6210.
Places are limited. Book your free place at info@mehg.org.au
In the meantime, get some inspiration from Simon’s appearance on Gardening Australia.
